Overview
The Hong Kong Visit Visa allows foreign nationals to enter Hong Kong temporarily for tourism, leisure, or short business activities. Many countries enjoy visa-free entry, while others must apply in advance.
Who Can Apply?
Nationals from visa-exempt countries (like USA, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Spain, etc.) can visit without a visa for 7 to 180 days, depending on nationality.
Nationals of other countries must apply for a Visitor Visa before traveling.
Key Requirements
Applicants must provide:
Valid Passport (minimum 6 months validity)
Completed Visa Application Form
Passport-sized Photograph
Proof of Financial Means (bank statements, income proof, ~HK$3,000 per person)
Travel Itinerary (flight bookings, hotel reservations)
Proof of Purpose (invitation letter, business meeting confirmation, etc., if required)
Travel Insurance (recommended)
Application Process
Prepare Documents – Passport, photo, itinerary, financial proof.
Submit Application – Apply through the Chinese Embassy/Consulate or the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
Processing Time – Typically takes about 4 weeks.
Receive Visa – Approved visa or entry permit is issued.
For Indian Nationals
Pre-Arrival Registration (PAR) is mandatory for short visits (up to 14 days).
PAR is free and can be completed online.
Requirements: valid passport (6+ months), accurate personal info.
After registration, download and carry the Notification Slip along with your passport.
Duration of Stay
Visa-free stay: 7 to 180 days (depending on nationality).
Visitor visa stay: as per approval (generally short-term).
Indian PAR: up to 14 days per visit.
