BANDS CALCULATION-
Your IELTS score is calculated by taking the average of your scores from the four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Each of these four tests is given a score on a band scale from 1 to 9, and these four individual band scores are then averaged. The final overall band score is rounded to the nearest whole or half band.
The Calculation Process-
Get scores for each section: You receive a band score (1-9) for Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
Add the four scores: Sum the individual scores from these four sections.
Divide by four: Divide the total by four to find the average.
Round to the nearest half band: The resulting average is then rounded to the nearest half or whole band.
Example:
Listening: 6.5
Reading: 6.5
Writing: 6.0
Speaking: 7.0
Average: (6.5 + 6.5 + 6.0 + 7.0) / 4 = 6.5
Overall Band Score: 6.5
